My students need to look at problem solving from multiple perspectives. Breakout Edu is a dynamic, innovative way to teach any subject by deciphering codes that will unlock a box!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I know everyone feels this way, but I have the best students in the world! Our Title I school has been primarily African-American, but over the past two years, our Hispanic population has doubled. We are now about 50-50!
Many of our students don't have Internet access in their homes.
Whenever they are at school, they are clamoring to be on the computers! Having digital resources in the library allows my students to develop skills that they will need to succeed in the 21st century.
My Project
Middle school students often would rather be home playing video games than sitting in math class dividing fractions. It can be difficult to engage students in the subjects that we need to teach them. I am always thinking of new ways to get students to interact with the content that they will need to learn. Breakout Edu checks all of the boxes!
Breakout Edu allows students to solve a mystery while actually learning content material!
Students have to solve a variety of problems to discover a code that will eventually unlock a box that will reveal the answer to the mystery!
Gamifying content is all the rage right now. Who doesn't want to play games in class? Breakout Edu has shown that students retain more information when they are using both sides of their brains to collaboratively solve problems. Breakout Edu is not just an innovative way to teach any subject, but also fosters team work, problem solving, and persistence! All attributes that help our students become more successful!
