Help me give my students dry erase boards to aid them in thinking, analyzing, and problem solving in non-traditional ways within the middle school, math classroom.

My Project
My middle school, math students are unique in that they are rapidly changing physically, socially, cognitively, and emotionally on a daily basis. They are struggling to define who they are and what their purpose is in this world. My goal is to create a secure and welcoming environment where they can maneuver safely through the uncharted waters of middle school and being a preteen/teenager.
These items will help me in breaking through the “institutional norms” of how a classroom is physically established and how teaching/learning typically “looks” in a middle school, math classroom.
My goal is have each of the large, dry-erase boards placed on 3 of the 5 panels of a metal, retractable wall that divides my classroom and its adjacent classroom. I will use the white boards along with my two classroom white boards to allow groups of students (no more than 3 to a group) to learn to think their way through problem solving; purposefully creating errors in a problem, identifying errors in problems created by other groups by analyzing the work, etc. This idea has been gleaned by reading, “Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics, Grades K-12, Fourteen Teaching Practices for Enhancing Learning” by Peter Liljedahl.
