My Students

Students are naturally curious about the world around them, and my students are no exception! Questioning, exploring, and taking risks are a daily experience in my classroom that I encourage. I want my students to be prepared to be successful in a 21st century world. This involves incorperating technology and adapting my teaching every day.

My students come to school to grow and become more prepared for their future careers.

Just because they are in middle school does not mean that they want to be tied to their desks. Instead, my students love to learn hands on and through technology. This provides unique challenges as their teacher, forcing me to constantly explore how to continue to engage students and not fall behind with technology. It is common for students to ask difficult questions and thrive to learn the most they can in their short time with me!

My Project

The goal of my project is to promote student growth within the STEM field and improve technology in my classroom. Teaching at a one-to-one (every student has a computer) school provides a unique classroom management challenge. Teachers can no longer be tied to their desks or computers. The iPad Pro will allow me to connect to the TV in my room, providing me the opportunity to be walking around and engaging with students at all times. The Apple Pen will give me the opportunity to give live demonstrations of math problems while being anywhere in the room.

This will allow me adapt to my students' needs as they arise.

Finally, the Breakout EDU will provide a unique experience to engage my students in both science and math. Students will be challenged to complete math problems to help solve a larger puzzle. All of these materials will push my classroom forward to continue to engage students in a meaningful way.
