Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach three sections of Reading & Language Arts to a lively bunch of fourth graders, many of whom come from a bilingual home. A majority of my students have entered my class with achievement gaps that my colleagues and I are always working hard to lessen.

I work in a K-12 Title I school in NE Philadelphia where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.

My students thrive in an era where technology runs rampant in every aspect of our lives. I am constantly searching for ways to keep up with the times of technology to keep them engaged.

My Project

These five Chromebooks and charging station will allow my students to use today's technology to their advantage! This effort will give my students DAILY access to interactive reading, grammar, and spelling games, audio books for struggling readers and auditory learners, writers' workshop modules, and more! This will also make my job of differentiating instruction to reach all levels of learners much easier, and quite frankly, more fun.

By donating to this project, you are ultimately giving eager students the ability to access the technology this era's made available to them as they relentlessly strive to make gains in their reading levels and beyond.

As my students finally decrease their achievement gaps and increase their reading levels to reach or go beyond their current grade level, that success transfers into every other subject area . . . for the rest of their academic lives! Funding this project really could be the stepping stone that my students have been waiting for to help them soar like I know they all can.
