My Students

I am privileged to be educating 20 unique second grade students this year. I teach at a Title 1 school in Western Missouri. A Title 1 school receives federal funds based on socio-economic status and reading scores. Most students at my school come from a disadvantaged background, often moving from one location to the another and receiving federal assistance for breakfast and lunch. Regardless, my students are truly passionate about the world around them. At my school, we implement the Leader in Me program. This program teaches students habits to becoming a leader in their classroom and in the community. We strive to lead by being respectful, doing the right thing, and serving others.

My Project

Breakout EDU provides an engaging experience for students to learn, practice and review skills and content! Students work collaboratively to search for clues and solve puzzles that will help them unlock the breakout box.

In an ever-changing world, teachers are faced with the challenge to engage their students in unique and innovative ways.

Breakout EDU is an exceptional assessment tool that addresses this challenge. Students are motivated to decipher the clues that are linked directly to their curriculum.

As a facilitator of this experience, teachers are given the opportunity to observe students in their ability to persevere and problem solve. It's not only fun for the students but for the teacher as well.
