Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Many of the students at our school come from low/no income families and asking the parents to fund projects such as this one is not always an option. Many of our community leaders will help when they can, but by others supporting this project, they can still support some of our every year needs.

Our students love to learn hands-on.

This project will allow them to have a hands-on activity that causes them to collaborate and use critical thinking skills. The activity can be adapted to several subjects and reused for several topics.

My Project

We will be creating break out boxes where students will have to answer questions about topics we are learning in class and use the answers to open combination locks that are keeping safe the prize of the lesson. Students are given scenarios with clues that will help them to figure out the combinations to the locks that hold the tool box closed. After removing all the locks, students can find the answer to the main objective of the topic.

Students have to collaborate and use critical thinking skills to solve the puzzle.

It allow them to use what they know along with deciphering the rest to make the topic more memorable.
