This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I'm grateful to belong to a dynamic community where diverse cultures and languages intersect. In our district, we prioritize breaking down language barriers and fostering inclusivity through onsite translators and other resources. However, I'm eager to take a more hands-on approach in connecting with my students and their families.

I'm seeking support for a project that will deepen my understanding of the languages and cultures in my classroom.

Instead of relying solely on interpreters, I want to personally engage with the diverse backgrounds of my students and their families.

By immersing myself in their languages and cultures with the Genki Textbook and Workbook, I aim to build stronger connections and establish meaningful rapport. This approach will not only enhance communication but also promote mutual respect and understanding within our community.
