Help me give my students sensory and fidget activities and a wobble chair to help with anxiety and focus, headphones to access speech-to-text programs, and classroom supplies like chart paper to keep students engaged in learning.
My students have barriers that they are trying to overcome so they require extra support in order to be successful. Covid took a toll on many students who now have academic and social-emotional deficits. My students want to do well, persevere when things get difficult, and we try our best to encourage them to keep making progress. In order to support them in their learning journey, I am requesting a wobble chair, fidgets, and sensory items to be used by my students to help alleviate anxiety and to help them continue through work. The use of headphones with a microphone is ideal for my students who use text-to-speech programs and will also be used for individual online activities. Lastly, the classroom supplies will be used for classroom collaboration to make the environment engaging and provide ownership.
My students are deserving of the best possible learning environment and to be provided with tools to help them be successful.
By providing these requested items, my students will have the little boost that they need to help them to break down the barriers.
