This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The little engineers in my classroom are very excited and exercise their curiosity to the fullest extent. They strive hard to be successful and practice being critical thinkers daily. Our school's main focus is STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), so my ultimate goal is to ensure that my students receive an enriched education that leads them to be the best independent learners possible. They have shown that they love working on hands-on projects, especially in science and math this year.
My Project
Most school day some of my students arrive after the morning bell and usually are not provided with breakfast. Since our school day is really long which is an extremely long time for my students to go without food. It truly saddens my heart to hear my students return to class and state there was not enough breakfast food for them to eat. I also really wish I could do a project for fresh fruit and vegetables but unfortunately, those items are not available. We are reaching out to everyone to help our class at least have a bowl of cereal or a light snack in the afternoon. Hunger is a battle that my students face daily, but with the help of us all, it could be stopped.
