This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Breakfast bars are a great way for children to get that little pick-me-up to start their day. For some children, it may be the breakfast that they missed or skipped. For others, it may be all they need to hold them over until lunchtime.
Having a good breakfast that fits in the palm of their hands helps give my children-on-the-go the nourishment they need to start their day or to hold them over until lunchtime.
Sometimes, a breakfast bar will help them make it through the end of the day when they run out of steam.
When school resumes in January, my children may need a little extra food in their bellies, as they will not have received free school breakfast or lunches over the winter break. I let them get food whenever they are hungry in my room. Knowing there is a breakfast nook in the classroom helps my children realize they will not go hungry in our classroom.
