it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
It's amazing what a little breakfast can do for kids to help them focus in the morning! And a little snack in the afternoon goes a long way to help them stay focused. These breakfast bars, cereals, and snacks are available to my children all day. When my students feel hungry, or if tummies or heads hurt, I ask them if they need something to eat. Most often, the answer is yes. So, I invite them to sit at the back of the room and get a bite to eat from our baskets. Having this food available during the day helps my children to feel in control of their lives. It keeps them full at school, removes tummy pain, and it keeps them in the classroom ready to learn.
Breakfast bars, cereal bowls, and snacks will help my students to stay focused throughout the day.
They can ask at any time and eat at the back of the room. Knowing this food is there makes all the difference in their lives. The children know that if they missed breakfast, or if they weren't hungry in the morning but later feel hungry, this food is available to them. Getting a late start at home should not mean a child misses breakfast. A simple item like a box of cereal can make children feel better and helps them to stay focused.
