Help me give my students snacks they love such as takis and candy to use as ice breakers when interacting with the high school mentors coming to our school to provide guidance and mental fortitude to struggling students.

My Project
From years of working in a Title 1 school, it is evident many of our students need a role model. We have started an important system where High School students come weekly to mentor some of our struggling students offering mental coping techniques to help them navigate the world. Many of our students are nervous when interacting with older students, but their favorite snack would be a great way to break the ice. Through these interactions, our students will gain the confidence and mental fortitude to handle all life throws at them.
Food can bring us together!
Sometimes a small connection, such as a shared liking of a particular snack, can go a long way in building a friendship between a student and a mentor. It is my hope with this project we will be able to do just that.
