My students need critical thinking skills and cooperative learning in order to be career ready.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a gifted and talented teacher in Title One schools my students are not allowed many enrichment opportunities. They have struggles in and out of the classrooms and despite this my goal is to provide critical thinking, enrichment, and emotional learning experiences. Through enrichment opportunities my students will be better prepared for real world situations.
My focus at these target schools is to provide enrichment for students who potentially could be gifted and talented qualified.
Any opportunities that I can provide would be beneficial.
My Project
In using this Lockbox my students will be required to work cooperatively and use accountable talk skills. It will also require them to critically think and problem solve, and in some cases using real world situations. The students will show pride in their accomplishment when the activity is solved.
Washoe County School District has been promoting the SEL strategies and this activity can put SEL skills to use in the classroom as well as in their daily lives.
It will encourage students to help others be problem solvers and give them strategies to be better problem solvers in the real world.
