My Project
My students are an amazing group with a vast amount of needs. The spectrum includes students that are quiet all the time to those that are constantly moving due to their disability. No matter the disability, school can become overwhelming and the behaviors can become not conducive to learning. As a special educator, I have to create a reward system for those who are able to maintain attention for a specified amount of time. Currently we allow students to play on the Chromebook but that has become a bit mundane
Time on an Oculus would be the perfect positive behavior reward in our current climate.
The mere concept of Virtual Reality would help the students feel that they are getting out of class if even for a short period of time. The students would be able to follow along with a dance or get exercise while using the Oculus. The movement at the right time will help improve memory, decrease stress associated with learning, and just plain ol' fun. Please help provide options that will work in our class. The added IPAD will allow for full functionality with downloading apps.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
