My Project

The Literacy Teacher on my team has a favorite motto which is "Read it, Love it, Return it" when it comes to students taking home books to read. The students do very well with the reading it and loving it part of this motto, however, the returning it is another story. Throughout the years, students have been reading books from these series and by the end of the year, some (mainly all) of the books have gone missing.

In today's day and age, it is extremely difficult to get students to read a physical book, so I want to make sure that I have as many physical books on hand as possible to help foster the love of reading.

Nothing is as devastating as when a student starts reading a series and when they ask for the next book in the series, I do not have the book for them. By having a complete series of Harry Potter, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, The Babysitters Club, and I Survived books I can ensure that this year students can focus on building their stamina and not seeing if I have the next book in the series.
