My Students

My students are eager, energetic and very curious about the world around them.

They are five and six year olds who are just starting their school experience and are excited to be in "big school." Their abilities and needs range from just learning the English Language to being proficient readers. However, no matter their ability they all love to learn by "doing." We enjoy building, creating and playing every day to learn new skills.

My Project

Throughout the year my students learn new skills through thematic units. These thematic units provide my students the opportunity to learn various subject matters by creating art projects, solving math problems, using technology and building objects in our classroom. One of the most favorite units that my kindergarteners love every year is our Fairy Tale Unit. They enjoy reading popular fairy tales, creating their favorite fairy tale character and acting out the plays for their peers. With this STEM Bundle, my students will be able to add the engineering component to this unit. They will be able to work together to build a chair that will not break for any of the 3 bears. They will have the opportunity to build a bridge that will hold the 3 billy goats.They will work together to build a home for the 3 little pigs that will also keep the big bad wolf out! My 5 and 6 year old students will be so engaged with this project that they won't even realize they are learning!

This STEM bundle will not only be used by my kindergarten students this year but every kindergarten student that comes through my classroom.
