This is my first year as a special education teacher and third year as a teacher. This year's class is full of diverse and enthusiastic learners. These students learn in a variety of ways. They love to have hands-on learning experiences and visuals to help create motivation. My students enjoy learning with different variations of required topics in our curriculum.
My students also love anything and everything that is game oriented.
Bright colors and intriguing topics are what drive these students in class every day. Experiencing various and new topics keeps them coming to school every day.
My Project
By obtaining a BrainPOP Jr. license I will be able to incorporate science and social studies in the classroom. These are subjects that tend to be overlooked and hard to fit into our everyday schedule. BrainPOP allows for visual and hands-on learning activities that are age appropriate for my students in the cross-categorical classroom. It also helps incorporate science and social studies into our core curriculum topics.
The two characters in BrainPOP work together to create and teach mini-lessons on important subjects for students.
These lessons include videos, activities, worksheets, and mini-quizzes to help check for comprehension.
This resource helps include science and social studies into the classroom and would be a great resource for my special education cross-categorical classroom.
