My Students
One of the many joys of being an elementary school teacher is having the pleasure of watching my students fall in love with learning. The end of elementary school is tough; from challenging standards to entering their teenage years, my students are walking their journey through many different walks of life.
I work in a small Title I charter school that serves students in grades K-5.
Title I means that many of our students come from low income families or areas. 100% of the students at my school are on free lunch. Our school and our community are very supportive of the education of our youth. It is not only our goal to make sure that students understand the subject matter, but to prepare them for a lifetime of learning and growing.
My Project
How can we incorporate fun learning in the classroom? Bring in technology! Students today are very involved in technology; both at home and at school. Technology plays a large part in their lives and it's something that children absolutely loved using.
BrainPop is a website full of amazing resources across all subject areas that enhance student learning.
BrainPop has educational videos with fun characters that the students enjoy learning from. In addition to these videos, there are short quizzes, matching ELA reading passages, educational games, "Make-A-Movie", graphic organizers, and so much more!
BrainPop is an engaging tool that makes fun and interesting. Since our is blessed with one-to-one technology, this subscription is something that could be used at home or at school to ensure the students are always learning something new!
