My Students

My school includes 411 students in grades 6-8., with diversity across domains-- 30% are minorities, and 13% are identified as having special needs. The percentage of students achieving proficiency in Reading/ Language Arts and Math are lower than the North Carolina state average . Yet, we are known as #FalconFabulous! My students come to Middle School where they begin the transition to thinking of careers and the world beyond their local community. They have a hunger for all that is out there for them to see!

My Project

My students need a year's subscription to BrainPop to supplement and individualize instruction received in the classroom. Each child will be assigned work that matches what their peers are learning in class.

"BrainPOP!" makes curriculum available to all students regardless of ability!

Students lack background knowledge and ability to learn through grade level texts.

Please help my students learn what their peers are learning through exciting digital videos and audible text. They are not penalized due to reading ability when using BrainPOP! It offers immediate feedback when given questions, reads aloud to them, and presents information in an age appropriate, accurate, appealing, and highly engaging format. My students can get on their chromebook to complete their work just like their other peers.
