My Students
My students are a great group of kids. They are 9th graders and many have autism and other developmental disabilities or special learning needs. They need more than a teacher who tells them what to do; they need an adult who will listen to them and work with them on their individual needs.
In the words of Temple Grandin, "Kids have to be exposed to different things to develop.
A child’s not going to find out he likes to play a musical instrument if you never exposed him to it."
My classroom assistant and I create a positive and interactive learning environment where our kids know that they are welcome, loved, appreciated, are safe, and can succeed.
My Project
My students have Autism and other developmental disabilities, and they will benefit from high-quality digital lessons. These lessons will serve as a warm-up and providing background knowledge to students.
All my students love using Brainpop to start a new concept or lesson.
The students can use Brainpop to improve their understanding of the concepts. This will, in turn, allow them to learn and understand the core curriculum lessons better. Whether we continue to learn virtually or begin learning in-person next year, the students will enjoy and benefit from this online video subscription.
