This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students need interactive online teaching tools to stimulate engagement. BrainPOP teaches students a variety of levels and ways. The lessons have visual learning tools, audio learning tools, and traditional teaching tools to engage learners. The tool starts with a video about a relevant topic (each subject has multiple topics for the year), and goes into a quick check for understanding. There are games, jokes, drawing prompts and writing prompts. It is finished off with an assessment. The tool is perfect for our class. We first tried BrainPOP out during the pandemic as a way to send engaging, fun lessons to parents to supplement learning. We came back to school but the gaps in learning have been hard to recover, so we continue to need this tool to make up the learning loss caused by the pandemic. Thank you for considering my class.
