My students need a classroom subscription to Brain Pop, an online resource of hundreds of animated movies that cover core curriculum topics for all grade levels.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach fourth grade at a low-income school. My students are very focused on learning and have shown a dedication to increasing their reading levels while studying all areas of the curriculum. They are very bright but have few resources available to them. They just need to have people believe in them and show them that they can accomplish anything they hope for.
My students are especially eager to learn about science, social studies, and math but it is difficult for our school to afford engaging resources for students to use on a daily basis.
Brain Pop is a website which offers hundreds of animated movies that cover all areas of the curriculum. Each movie has a corresponding experiment, timeline, and quiz to help make the information come alive for the students. No downloading is necessary to view the short movies so students can get information quickly and easily as we have a need in the classroom. In addition, the movies are closed captioned which would allow the students to read along as the information is presented in a very kid-friendly way.
With your help, all areas of the curriculum could come alive for my students as they use Brain Pop on a daily basis in the classroom.
