This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a 2nd-grader teacher in a high needs, low income, Title I school. Our school is 70% ELL and 100% free lunch/breakfast for all students.
My students are amazingly enthusiastic primary English Language Learners determined to learn and succeed.
These little learners are interactive and love to have fun while learning. They like to experiment and imagine things beyond what we can see. Enriching their little minds with wonderful adventures is my dedication. With their enthusiasm, I'm optimistic that they'll succeed in creating a life-long learning.
My Project
With the pandemic going on and with students being away from school for long, teachers need to create an secure and comfortable environment where students enjoy learning while filling in the gaps brought about by the pandemic. I, as a teacher, thrive to provide this kind of conducing environment by providing them with the necessary classroom materials that helps address learning. In our classroom, we have our mini library where student learn through books, games, and through manipulatives.
These social-emotional learning tools are necessary in providing the comfort and security the students need to learn and grow better despite the gaps.
These materials will also develop their interest in reading and math as this project focuses on developing students' higher order thinking skills.
