Allow us to learn! Juggling bean bags and rings has been proven to enhance a student's left and right brain abilities. Our older students will be challenged with Diablos and juggle sticks. Being able to improve the whole brain, our PE department can assist all of our students at school.
Our students come from a lower socio-economic, culturally diverse and very transient area.
They work very hard in school but coming from different educational and cultural backgrounds, they struggle with the standard testing format. Our school enrollment is increasing and our program budget is not meeting basic needs.
My Project
This project will allow all of our students to take part in a variety of juggling exercises during the course of the year. K-6 children will be able to improve their hand-eye coordination, mental focus, and to access intelligence from both the right and left sectors of their brain. The different items allow us as teachers to be able to adjust difficulty of the task to meet the individuals ability.
P.E programs in the past have focused on games or strictly fitness.
We want to incorporate learning enhancement into our program. Studies have shown that students that use their entire brain are more likely to succeed in academic areas than students that predominantly use one side. These activities will allow us to do that.
