This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students love puzzles, games, and healthy competition. Some of the games I've selected (Mastermind,, 24, Backgammon) are two to six person competitive games while others promote collaboration and listening and learning from others (We! Connect, Rummikub, Math Blast!).
The students will have fun while learning to think outside the box, improve their reasoning and logic skills and work on number sense.
The books contain puzzles that will improve their vocabulary and contain puzzles like sudoku, cryptograms, crossword puzzles and others that they can enjoy for the rest of their lives. I'm hoping these skills and persistence will transfer to their more formal academic activities.
