My Project

I teach three large groups of hungry 8th graders. My students would benefit from having additional food in our classroom. These children are growing so fast at this stage that they are simply hungry for more food some days and need more to eat. It is very hard for the students to focus if they have grumbling tummies. I have found that having food on hand means they can satisfy their hunger and move on to be successful students in my math class. Having enough food is essential to growth and focus in class.

I am also asking for sentence strips to allow students to write thank you notes for those who help provide them with a snack.
