My Project
I am an instructor who teaches Freshman students in Algebra 1 at my school. This school has over 80 % of students qualifying for free and reduced lunch. The school receives funding under Title 1 and many supplies are bought and paid for directly by teachers. Students come into my classroom during different times in the day asking for something to eat.
Help me provide healthy snacks and juice to feed their mind so they can be active learners and not passive learners.
Having these snack in my classroom will be an incentive for my students to be in school if they know they will not have to go hungry during the school day.
The Pop-tarts, granola bars and chocolate milk will be healthy breakfast food for students in the morning. The chips and other snacks will be used during tutoring to refresh and renew students who stay 2 hours after school to use the computers and also getting help to complete homework assignments.
These snacks for my students will help them in more ways than one. They will know they have an advocate who serves both as a teacher and a provider that helps them in being a success across the board, not just for their academic needs.
