My Project
I am an instructor who teaches Freshman students in Algebra 1 at my school. I also stay after school Monday through Thursday to provide a safe environment for 9th to 12 graders who need extra help and technology to complete homework assignments. My school has over 80 % of students qualifying for free and reduced lunch. The school receives funding under Title 1 and many supplies are bought and paid for directly by teachers. Students come into my classroom during different times in the day asking for something to eat and after school it is a necessity to have something to give students who stay late.
Help me provide healthy snacks and juice to feed their mind so they can stay focus and get their homework done.
Having these snack in my classroom will be an incentive for students to come in after school if they know they will not have to go hungry while completing any such work.
The chips, juice and chocolate milk will be good snacks for students during tutoring to refresh and renew those who stay 2 hours after school to use the computers and also getting help to complete homework assignments.
These snacks for my students will help them in more ways than one. They will know they have an advocate who serves both as a teacher and a provider, leaving them to focus on being a success in the required assignments from their teachers.
