My Project

My students come into my classroom ready and enthusiastic about learning! This project will help me build a math environment with math trays, centers, counters, graphing bases, and other more hands-on, independent-use manipulatives to further motivate their interests.

This project is Inspired by universal design principles and developmentally-appropriate practice!

Giving students modality choice through diverse materials and learning opportunities is important for motivating learning in early childhood. Independent-use and self-correcting resources allow for more learner-directed experiences and foster the development of a positive orientation towards learning. Math skill development is particularly important in early childhood as math skill is a strong predictor of academic achievement across areas.
