Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work with Title I students who have been impacted the hardest by COVID-19. Many of my students experienced the loss of family members, the loss of homes, and the loss of educational time. They have fighting spirits and will continue to persevere, but it is important to continue to provide for their emotional, social-emotional, and academic needs that have been intensified by the pandemic.
These items will allow for students to take meaningful brain breaks when they most need them.
iPads can hold meditation apps, ebooks, digital coloring and other apps which will help students when they need a few moments to work through issues that will allow them to refocus on their learning. A VR tool will let them take a calm walk on the beach or visit places they want to add to their bucket lists, or even go on virtual trips that relate to our learning!
