This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I would like to provide easy snacks to students to be able to focus on class lessons instead of their hunger.
This will specifically help students in food deserts and in emergencies who may not have easy access to nutritional meals.
If students have already met at least one foundational comfort (food, space, safety), there is less stress on the brain and more focus on the information of the moment.
I would like to make sure that students feel safe and comfortable in my room when they feel access to a food resource, regardless of food need.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
