I am excited to launch a new initiative at our school— Braids – Books – ‘N’ Banter Club. This club is designed to promote literacy among students while engaging in a socially enriching activity. I believe that by combining the joy of reading with the art of braiding hair, we can create a unique and impactful program that will benefit students in many ways.
The Braids – Books – ‘N’ Banter Club will provide students with the opportunity to enhance their reading skills in a fun and interactive way.
Each club meeting will involve students reading a book aloud or silently while getting their hair braided. This approach not only promotes literacy but can also deepen the reading experience, enhance understanding, foster a love for literature, and allow students to explore their creativity through hair styling.
To make this program a success, I am seeking donations of braiding supplies such as combs, hair ties, bookmarks, and book storage. Your support will help me provide a positive and enriching experience for students, encouraging a love for reading and learning while fostering a sense of community and collective appreciation.
