My Project

The first way the books of this project will be used is in our high school book club, to help entice male students to join. We have a few male members of our book club, but we would like to see more join. In order to see this, we need books that appeal to them. This project would help us to accomplish this goal.

Males can enjoy reading too; they just need the right books to draw them in.

Dry by Neal Shusterman and Discovering Wes Moore by Wes Moore, either feature a male protagonist and/or have a storyline that appeals to a male audience. Discovering Wes Moore, in particular, will also appeal to our male students of African American descent. It also shows how choices can make all the difference.

The second way these books will be used is that they will be available for classroom teachers to use as book sets to incorporate into their curriculum. And the third way that these books will be used is that, when not in use by book club or a classroom, they will be available for checkout to any of our 500 students.

Please help me get quality books to appeal to our male students.
