Bountiful Bureaus for Math Storage

Help me give my students these bureaus so they can store their math supplies and so that we have them available at all times.

My Project

In my classroom, we are a "thinking classroom." Students are given access to tools to solve problems, and they work together to create meaning. As a result, my room looks a bit different than the traditional classroom. We have several whiteboards around the room (circling around) so students can show their work and thought processes on vertical surfaces. The students are active and stand during this time, working on their whiteboard but also building on other groups' work by looking and having discussions with other groups. However, to do a "thinking classroom" effectively, students need access to the math materials/tools that are needed. Previously, I have had plastic bins around the classroom holding my math materials. but they are plastic/flimsy and are breaking down this year. As a result, I have no place to store my math materials.

Getting these chests of drawers will also serve a dual purpose.

They not only store resources so that students can easily access them, but they also serve as desktops for students. I have gotten rid of many tables to make room for the whiteboards. Students stand and work on whiteboards during math (no sitting), and these bureaus can give them a place to put their workbooks/papers they are working on. This is also great when doing independent work because I have more places for students to work at, which spaces them around the room. Furthermore, my students need to practice with concrete representatives to truly understand and own math concepts, especially my special education and at-risk populations. They need more time with those manipulatives to make sense of problems and to better visualize. These materials help them make sense of math and show them the how and why it works.
