My Students

Our small school is located in South Georgia. Many students come from low-income homes. My students are super sweet and so eager to learn! Many of my students are wiggle worms and need something to help keep them on task. At times, this can be distracting. When I think they are not listening, they actually are! This year I would like to give them flexible seating to get all their jitters out and be able to focus on their academic learning.

My Project

Many students in my class are wiggle worms. If they had seating that would allow them to move, while completing task at their seats, they would be able to focus on the task they are working on. As adults, we have a hard time staying seated for long periods of time. So why would we expect 2nd graders to stay still while they learn? I chose bouncy balls and bouncy donuts for flexible seating options. I would like to give my students seating that allows students to move, while staying on task would greatly benefit my students. They would be able to move and learn without being a distraction to others. I cannot wait to have some flexible seating in my classroom!
