This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember what it was like to be a wiggle worm? The teacher, or even mom, would tell you to stay still... but you just had so much ENERGY! My kindergarten kids have enough energy to power the school, and these bouncy ball chairs will help us channel that energy productively!
My 22 students come from all different areas of our city.
In my classroom alone, I have a total of 5 different languages represented! Although the kids are all different, they have really learned how to work well together, and they celebrate one another's accomplishments so beautifully. My students attend a magnet school that is focused on social studies. We spend much of our time learning how to interact with one another and how to be part of a learning community. The scholars in my class spend lots of time talking, developing oral language, and working together.
My Project
My students are in need of 13 stability ball chairs to use at their seats during classroom activities. This is Part 2 of this project, and these balls will complete a class set of 25 stability ball chairs. We have been using the 13 original stability ball chairs that were funded for our classroom, and we have seen a huge improvement in the children's work, ability to focus, and ability to channel their energy into bouncing, rather than talking, during work time. I have seen the impact of these chairs first hand, and I know how much they have helped the kids in my classroom!
I have read so many studies and articles about these stability ball chairs, and I decided to try them in my classroom.
With these ball chairs, my students have been able to focus in ways they never were before. They are happier, more productive, and they're finally channeling their energy toward their school work. With your help, my entire class will be able to experience the benefits of these stability ball chairs each day!
