Bouncy Bands for Bouncy Kiddos

My students need an outlet to move and release energy in a way that doesn’t disrupt learning. Today’s generation of learners cannot be strapped to a desk for hours, these bands are great to encourage learning!

My Students

I host a diverse group of learners from a huge variety of the economic range. We have students that are well to do and we have students that come from cardboard boxes. We have students with parents, with parents that don't have a high school education, with parents that always work, and without parents at all.

What all our students have in common if you strip away the baggage they have to carry to school and every day is their desire to learn, and my desire to help them be kids and explore the world.

I am a Google Certified Level 2 instructor, without the ability to allow our students to access the world through technology. As a math teacher, the applications they could digitally explore are endless. Right now we are exploring as a group through a Promethean board. I want to show them how much you care and give them a class set of devices.

My Project

Students today are bombarded with lights, sounds, games, and continuous distractions. Add this to low socioeconomic students having higher anxiety, stress and fight or flight reactions, they need to move! Gone are the days of strapping down the students in rows of desks training them to work assembly lines.

These bands give them the opportunity to bounce their legs as fast as their hearts desire. Most importantly, the bands provide an outlet for all the stored up energy enhancing classroom behavior, minimizing distractions, and maximizing learning.

Think about the donation while you sit in your next meeting. You are either annoyed by the guy tapping or you are the guy tapping. (please for all of us, quit clicking the pen after you noticed I was corrext about the tapping.). Now think about how some bouncy bands would stop this urge.
