My Students
My students are eager to learn, curious, and active! We are a neighborhood school in which many of my students have attended since Pre-K. Our parents and community are actively involved. However, many of my students face learning challenges and seek alternative ways to engage in instruction. Over 40% of my class is economically disadvantaged. It is my goal to provide my students with an environment that is comfortable, safe and provides each student with the opportunity to reach their academic potential.
My Project
Bouncy Bands will allow my energetic students to expend energy while actively engaging in instruction. The school I work in does a great job of providing time for students to move around throughout the day. But, even with the extra time, my students spend ample amounts of time seated. Within our classroom, many of my students require extra breaks throughout the academic day to regain their focus. However, with frequent breaks, we lose precious time for academics. Bouncy bands will provide a fun way for each student to use their energy that is quiet and not disruptive of the learning environment.
