Bouncing Our Way Through The Day

My Students

I am honored to be able to work with four beautiful world changers. In my classroom, we tackle big and small challenges and come out victorious!

This year, I teach students in a 3rd-5th grade Autism classroom.

I teach in a rural public school, that also services our local military families. My school is a title one school, where a majority of the students receive free or reduced lunch. Increasing communication and independence is the very heartbeat of my classroom. All of my students require significant supports in language acquisition and social skills. With my low teacher: student ratio, I am able to meet my students' unique needs. As a result of their Autism, my students also require a safe, therapeutic environment that explores their sensory needs, as they push forward on their academics.

Even though I am the teacher, my world is forever impacted by the lessons my students teach me!

My Project

Often, my students work very hard on their daily tasks, with a smile and positive attitude.

Their perseverance has driven my decision to start this project.

One of the biggest challenges that I have noticed, in my classroom, is my students' need for movement during academics. While my students love to learn, it is sometimes a struggle for them to have their sensory needs met effectively, while still being able to engage with academic material. Providing them with alternative seating will allow them to learn in comfort and regulate their sensory needs. Stability Ball Chairs are perfect for group instruction, one on one instruction, and independent learning. As the students grow older, physically, these specific chairs will accommodate for height and weight differences. Because of their sensory differences, my students tend to have more challenges to overcome than a typical student. By providing them with tools that they can use to develop their ability to regulate their sensory systems, you are helping them be able to BOUNCE their way to success.
