My Project

I am a Special Education Teacher for a Title 1 school in southeast Virginia. I currently have 27 students on my caseload who I serve for reading and math. I have many students who are from military families as well as students who move frequently. Imagine being in second grade and already having gone to multiple schools due to frequent moves. Add to that having an IEP(Individual Education Plan) to help with struggles in math, reading and or emotional support and my students are even further behind in learning.

I want my classroom to be a welcome and safe place for my kiddos to learn and grow.

I am asking for flexible seating options and bounce bands so that my students can move while they learn! Think about having to sit in a hard seat all day when your body can't stop moving. Flexible seating gives the students that movement without being disruptive to others.

I appreciate you taking the time to read my request and I would be grateful for any funding to help give my students the support they need to be successful. My motto this year is growing seeds and not weeds. Thank you for helping me grow the seeds of learning with my students.
