My Students

New fourth grade class. 16 students. 11 of them are boys. My classroom never stops. Boys have an extremely hard time sitting in their chairs and being still. I want to help them with this.

I have a very diverse group of students.

They come from very different backgrounds. A lot of my students have parents who don't know how to help them with their homework. This is a title 1 school where every student receives free breakfast and lunch. Even through all the obstacles I know these children may face everyday, they want to learn and they want to make good grades.

My Project

I want to give my students their best chance possible at learning. These exercise balls and fidget pencil toppers, will help keep their hands or body moving while their brain is processing. I will switch out some of their chairs for one of these balls while they are doing their work or listening to me lecture, and I will also allow them to sit on one during carpet time. I have had 4 different students fall out of their chairs at different points already this year, due to not being able to sit in them correctly and concentrate.

By funding this project, you will enrich these students' learning experience and help them see that they are capable of being successful.
