My Students

My students are students who need some extra assistance in their reading instruction outside of the general classroom setting. We work in small groups to have more repetitions and more one-on-one opportunities to help improve our reading.

We love learning from books that are easy for us to read and understand.

Being able to read more words in a book without having to sound them out really allows us to focus more on the content of the story rather than trying to sound out every word we come across. My students work hard every day to improve their reading abilities!

My Project

These BOB books partner with a reading intervention program called Sound Partners. It is a field-tested program proven to increase word attack, word identification, and spelling skills. It includes over 100 scripted lessons that can be used to provide one-on-one instruction to young students who may be struggling with reading.

These students need books that help them feel confident while reading so their reading confidence can blossom.

These leveled books would benefit a range of students from kindergarten through second grade that come to the Reading Room for extra reading support. When students feel comfortable reading, their interest in reading really peaks; they want to read more often, learn more about how to decode words, and read with more fluency.
