My Students

Dirt roads, feeding the cows, gathering the eggs and riding the bus are all things that my students do before school. They are part of a close-knit family and a small rural school. They understand how important hard work and perseverance are.

The hard work starts at home and continues through the day at school.

It does not end until they are in bed asleep at night.

There are 95 students in the elementary and 100 in the Jr/Sr High, not all are from a farming family, but all are part of our little town. The closest "big" town is 30 miles away, so for fun and entertainment, there are a lot of pick-up games going on. It is football during football season, and basketball during basketball season. In the summer it is whatever game is going on during the day.

My Project

The students that we have in our school love to play outdoors, but as the cold Montana winters hit it is hard to get outside. We would love to have some ways that the students can grow their brains without having to freeze their fingers off to do it.

Bal-a-vis-x is a way that students can build their brains while they are inside.

It uses balls to help strengthen the midline of the body, which is the middle of the body. Research has found the children that have a weak midline have scattered thoughts and more difficulty learning. They have also found that strengthening it promotes communication and coordination between the left and right side of the brain.
