Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students in my bilingual kindergarten class are considered at risk for two reasons: the home language and the fact that most of them come from low-income families. Jessup Elementary is a Pasadena ISD school considered Title I for the high percentage of children enrolled from low-income families.
My students are eager to learn, they need to expand their vocabulary and they are like little sponges that absorb all new learning concepts.
My students deserve the best educational resources available!
My Project
My students will experience flexible seating when having small group instruction. Flexible seating has been proved to increase the student's ability to focus and stay on task.
The bouncing ball chairs will help improve their focus while getting their need for movement out of their little bodies.
The students will have access to five bouncing seating balls when receiving small group instruction at the teacher table. The other 3 balls will be used at the teacher aide table, the students that require additional instruction with the paraprofessional will also have access to flexible seating which will help them stay focused and increase his attention.
