Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My kindergarteners are energetic, imaginative, and eager to learn through hands-on exploration. Many of them come from under-resourced homes and don’t have access to many learning materials outside of school. In our classroom, play is our pathway to learning—and science is one of our favorite adventures!

This project will help us bring big science concepts—like motion, force, and energy—down to a kindergarten level using something kids love: balls!

With different types of balls and simple ramps, we’ll roll, bounce, push, and race to discover how things move. Through these activities, students will get to observe and describe motion in a playful and age-appropriate way, laying the foundation for understanding physics and scientific thinking.

This project also supports physical development and cooperation as students work together in teams to explore, record, and share their findings.
