This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach students with Autism. I have multiple grades, first-fifth. I have two little girls and thirthteen boys. Most of my students have behavior problems, which means they behave better when they can move. All of my students have the ability to learn, they just have sensory issues that make some things difficult. My students' families depend on me to teach structure and coping methods that they can transfer to home. I teach at a Title I school, and we have limited resources.

My Project

My students will get great use of these chairs. I have one Bungee chair, and it is not enough to go around. The chair enables students to be suspended and bounce without disturbing the class. The kids love to bounce, and the chair also conforms to different size students and it is very comfortable. I have first thru fifth graders, so all of my students will be able to use the same chairs. Some students with autism enjoy the sense of being held, and the chair gives them that feeling of being supportive, without being too stiff. Students will get to use them as their regular chairs. The chairs will allow students to bounce all day and get rid of that extra energy. This helps students who have have problems staying still.
