Help me give my students in Algebra 1 scientific calculators to use daily in class.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Negrete's classroom raised $659

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We will be using scientific calculators throughout the school year in Algebra 1 for ninth graders to calculate mainly exponential and quadratic equations that require a scientific calculator. Most only have basic operation calculators.
We end the school year by building and launching bottle rockets.
Students will have to calculate velocity using a quadratic equation. The scientific calculators will make it easier for students to calculate their bottle rocket velocity. They will use a quadratic equation that will take into account gravity and starting height. They will measure time their rocket takes to land and then will have to use their results to estimate the velocity of their rocket in feet per second.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
