My Project

This project for bottles, foam balls, felt, paint, yarn, fabric, and other craft items will be used to engage students in a hands-on activity where they will first research their favorite historical figure, create a "Bottle Buddy" to look like their figure, then present their models and share what they have learned about them! Elementary school students do not get much exposure to nonfiction texts and find them to be difficult. What better way to get students interested in nonfiction texts than by allowing them to bring their favorite historical figures to life? This project will reach the entire third grade our school (75 students)! These supplies will help students create their "Bottle Buddies" to accurately represent the historical figures of their choosing. Our third graders are special because they enjoy creatively expressing themselves, and this project will help boost their confidence!
