Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a Life Skills class to 9 students that range from 6-8th grade. They love learning and are always eager to try new things. We love to do science experiments and daily living skills every week. This includes planning and cooking a meal and learning how to do laundry for example. This also includes social skills and how to interact with others even though they may have issues that make it hard on them at times. My students are the hardest workers I know!

My Project

If our project is funded, our class will be able to have hands-on manipulatives to learn about coding and engineering. Hands-on activities are the best for our small classroom setting and learning environment. Being in a small classroom, my students have never really had the opportunity to have these type of materials. They would benefit from it so much because they could get a better grasp of the concept and make a more concrete connection. The materials will help me teach the students the beginning basics of coding and engineering. This will ignite their imagination and get them to crave more learning.
