My Students
My 7th grade science students came to school this year, bursting with enthusiasm and excitement to learn and discover things about the natural world, in spite of (or perhaps thanks to) the challenges of the recent global pandemic.
They are resilient, curious, and eager to explore, anxious to understand the world and to make it better.
Even as many of them struggle with finding normalcy in a community that was especially hard hit by the social and economic struggles caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, they have retained their energy and excitement for learning and socializing carefully with each other.
My Project
With these tools, our 7th grade science classes will have the tools they need to complete our Botany lesson as well as help give the school a much-needed burst of life and color by planting spring and summer flower bulbs in empty beds around the building.
Their enthusiasm for learning and working together will culminate in a school beautification project that they can be proud of for years to come.
This project will give the kids a chance to apply the knowledge they've learned in the classroom about plant organ structures and functions in a real-world, service-oriented context that will enliven and beautify the learning space for teachers and kids, alike.
